Frédéric Rocher is a prominent French testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) executive based in Hong Kong, serving as the General Manager of GMED Asia and Managing Director of LNE-LP Asia. With nearly three decades of international commercial experience spanning Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, Rocher specializes in market access strategies, quality control testing, and regulatory conformity. He plays a vital role as a cross-border bridge, helping healthcare, industrial, and consumer product manufacturers navigate the rigorous regulatory compliance landscapes required to launch products in global markets.
Rocher’s early professional foundation was shaped within several sectors, including the electrical equipment, distribution, and commercial retail industries. He built valuable operational insights working across technical networks for major global enterprises like Hager, sharpening his command over supply chains and key account management. His capacity to scale commercial operations eventually led him to permanently transition into the highly technical industrial and public testing framework of the Laboratoire National de Métrologie et d'Essais (LNE), France's National Metrology and Testing Laboratory.
His strategic focus shifted permanently to Asia as he took on long-term directional roles dedicated to expanding LNE’s presence in the Far East. Over a 17-year tenure, Rocher worked to position the laboratory as a trusted regional entity, building strong strategic commercial networks and cross-border enterprise partnerships. He spearheaded operational turnarounds and consolidated testing capabilities, culminating in his appointment as the Managing Director of LNE-LP Asia Ltd.—a pivotal joint venture that merged LNE Asia with Laboratoires Pourquery on a fully modernized testing site in Hong Kong.
Recognizing that healthcare and biotechnology sectors require highly specialized, rigorous market pathways, Rocher scaled his leadership into international medical device certification. In late 2024, he assumed the helm as General Manager of the newly formed GMED Asia subsidiary in Hong Kong, a specialized branch of LNE's medical device certification body. From this hub, Rocher steers regional market entries, guiding manufacturers through complex CE markings, UKCA compliance, the Medical Device Single Audit Program (MDSAP), and technical cooperation programs.
Today, Rocher operates at the forefront of the healthcare and MedTech compliance landscape, driving regulatory alignment for diagnostics across the Pan-Asian sector. Backed by a Master’s degree in Humanities from The University of Hong Kong, his management approach combines strict scientific standards with cross-cultural business strategy.
